The Greenville Health Authority is committed to advancing the health and well-being of everyone in Greenville County through intentional, measurable community investment. Through our two grant programs—Healthy Greenville and Healthy Greenville, Too!—we fund innovative projects that improve health outcomes, expand access to care, and strengthen the systems that support our community’s wellness.

Large-scale community grants for lasting impact supporting health-related care, research, and education projects.

Healthy Greenville, Too! Grants
Micro-grants for grassroots and event-based projects supporting non-traditional healthcare providers with emerging or short-term projects.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the funding priorities?
Healthy Greenville Grants fund projects/programs that address Health Related Care, Health Research, and Health Education intended to improve the health of Greenville County residents. Funding priorities are projects/programs that increase access to healthcare, address social determinates of health, address or increase access to mental/behavioral health services, and address healthy eating and exercise.
Healthy Greenville, Too! Grants fund traditional health services delivery organizations and non‐health services/care related organizations. Services provided must improve the well‐being of under-served populations in Greenville County.
Who is eligible to apply?
• Nonprofit organizations with 501(c)3 tax exempt status
• Academic Institutions: School, College, or University
• Government agencies
• Religious organization (funds can only be used for secular purposes)
• Coalitions/Collaboratives that include eligible organization types.
• Any operating budget size can apply.
• Organizations in good standing with the IRS and represent financial sustainability.
Who is NOT eligible to apply?
• Organizations currently participating in a Healthy Greenville funding cycle.
• Organizations applying for Healthy Greenville, Too! grant cannot apply for a Healthy Greenville grant in the same year.
• For‐profit entities
• Programs or projects not located in Greenville County
Can you apply for a Healthy Greenville Grant and Healthy Greenville, Too! Grant in the same year?
No, organizations applying for a Healthy Greenville, Too! Grant cannot apply for a Healthy Greenville Grant in the same year. No consecutive year funding.
Are grants limited to Greenville County?
Yes, programs & projects must directly benefit residents of Greenville County, South Carolina.
Can organizations partner and request a grant?
Yes, collaborative, and cross‐functional projects are encouraged.
Does Healthy Greenville fund capital projects?
Capital funding requests will be considered if the request meets the criteria and the goals of Healthy Greenville. Healthy Greenville, Too! grants do not fund capital projects.
Do you consider multi-year grants?
Yes, Healthy Greenville Grants can include a request for up to three years. Healthy Greenville, Too! Grants are only for one year.
Do you require matching funds?
No, however, an organization should have a funding plan for sustaining the project/program after the grant has ended to ensure project success.
Can I contact a Trustee to discuss my grant idea?
Trustees do not want to appear to be biased in the application process, therefore you cannot contact a Trustee to discuss anything related to your grant request. Any questions must be directed to Debbie Cooper at [email protected].
If awarded a grant, what are my responsibilities?
• The organization submitting the application is solely responsible for the success of the funded project to include reporting measurable outcomes, tracking all expended grant funds and ensuring that all funds are utilized as outlined in the grant request.
• All funded work must be trackable, measurable, and sustainable.
• The Grantee must be able to provide an accounting for expended grant funds at all times.
• Communicate changes or obstacles that occur during the grant cycle with Greenville Health Authority Liaison. If changes to the project are required, a grant modification must be requested.
• Submit required follow-up reports on time.
